SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY56 AND BUGABOO

Wow, what a week. I took a day off from work on friday and went to California to be with my daughters and grandkids. It was one of my grand-daugther's birthday. (Number Two) We had a great time saturday at the birthday party, Bar-b-queing and swimming. And then, I spent the evening with my other daughter and son-in-law. We had a wonderful day together. We drove back home on Sunday. However, a five and one half hour trip home took us eight hours. We had just started home when there was a fatal accident on the freeway killing a CHP officer. (Hit and Run) It shut the freeway down for at least three hours. We finally found another way around the accident but it added another 2.5 hours on to our trip. We are so sorry for this needless loss of life. We were told later that the accident was caused by a drunk driver.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!!!

This card is honor of my Father. He celebrated his 92th birthday this year.

He is such a special part of my life and I have really developed a very close relationship with him the last 10-15 years.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!

My father worked for the state of Utah as a Fishery Biologist. He also took care of the family farm. He would work on the farm early in the morning and then go to work for the state for an eight hour day. On returning home, he would work until dark on the farm. I will never forget how hard he worked to make sure we had food on the table. I never remember going without... Although, dad tells us that he worried from day to day as to how he was going to provide for all six of us kids. And, Mom was always close by, ready to cook things up to profection. We had all the fresh produce that we wanted and the rest of it he would sell on the corner to people in the community. The people loved his produce. The farm was in our family for over 100 years. My grandfather sold produce and so did my great-grandfather.

I have so many fond memories of our farm and all the wonderful times we had there. It was hard work..and dad really did made us work. And so, when our children were old enough to work down in the field, my husband and I made sure that they had the experience working with my dad too. They grumbled about it just like we did when we were kids, but now, they only talk about the special time they had with their grandpa. And Oh, yes, they do mention the never ending rows of tomatoes, raspberries, beans and other fruits and vegetables that they had to pick. But now it is with fond memories. I was really saddened when the property was sold and new homes were built there. We have tons of pictures of the farm before it was sold. Those memories will forever be with me. I am sure my siblings and our children feel the same way.

Thanks Dad for all you have done and still do for all of us!

I love you!

I came across this free image over at Digital Two for Tuesday.

Shirleys2Girls Blog Hop Entry -Use something old

Good Morning

I just finished a blog hop over at Shirleys 2 Girls. They have some amazing wedding cards colored up for your inspiration.
Part of the challenge is to make a card using something old. I have used some old ribbon that I have in my stash and an Old image that I had from Indadinkado. The pack is called "Thank You"

I've had the paper for awhile, so I am not sure were I got it or who it is made by..

I also wanted to make this card simple to show off the paper and fun image.

Hope you enjoy my creation! And thanks for stopping by!

Have a wonderful weekend!

SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY #52 and DIGI DOODLE SHOP

Welcome to our challenge for Sweet Sketch Wednesday!! We have another fun sketch for you this week. Please Hop on over to SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY to join in the fun!

The Digi Doodle Shop is our sponsor. They are offering three (3) digi's to the winner of the challenge this week. They are a new digi shop and have been in business for two months. They have a collection of 250 darling images to choose from.

The image I have used is called: "Soda Shop"

This image brings me back to the 60's. Just a little stroll down memory lane. I remember so well going to the soda shop with my friends sometimes after school.

Supplies:
Copic markers: E00, E02, YR00, E37, Y08, E33, E13, C1, Booo, B32.
Paper: Stampin Up and scraps from my stash.
Hand Made flower, ribbon and brad.

My grand children love to come over and color images with me on a regular basis. Last night while they were here, my granddaughter saw my card and wanted to color up the image too! Below is her picture. When they come over, they don't want to do anything else but color images. They have their own markers and once in awhile I give in and let Samantha use my Copic's. She is very careful with them. I really get a big kick out of the fact that this is what they want to do when they are at my house. They both love to color and draw. They would rather do something "crafty" then anything else. Sam will sit at the desk in the office and Logan will sit on the counter in the kitchen and they will color and draw for hours. I am talking about a 7 year old girl and a three year old boy.....I just couldn't resist posting this along with my card. She is only seven... Sam added glitter to the dress and shoes and a bow for the girls hair.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you have an enjoyable week! Thanks for your comments!
